WHO MARRIES WHOM MATTERS: KESAMAAN PENDIDIKAN ORANGTUA DAN BERAT BADAN SAAT LAHIR DI INDONESIA

Abstract


Terlepas dari upaya yang berkelanjutan dan komitmen untuk mengurangi bayi dengan Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR), secara global, insiden BBLR mengalami stagnasi. Studi ini menggunakan faktor gabungan dari variabel pendidikan ibu dan suami/ pasangan dalam mengurai kompleksitas kejadian BBLR. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder SDKI 2017 dengan metode analisis regresi logistik multilevel dalam melihat hubungan antara kesamaan pendidikan orangtua dengan berat badan bayi saat lahir di tingkat individu dan komunitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ibu yang memiliki suami/ pasangan dengan pendidikan yang setara dan merupakan pendidikan tinggi (≥SMA sederajat) memiliki kecenderungan yang lebih rendah dalam mendapati BBLR dibandingkan ibu yang memiliki pasangan dengan ketidaksamaan pendidikan. Selain itu, ibu yang memiliki pasangan dengan pendidikan yang setara dengan karakteristik pendidikan rendah memiliki kecenderungan yang lebih tinggi dalam melahirkan BBLR dibandingkan kelompok ibu lainnya. Variabel responden yang antara lain sebagai penghuni desa, tinggal di lingkungan atau komunitas dengan persentase rata-rata kemiskinan ekstrim yang tinggi, dan mengalami masalah terkait jarak menuju fasilitas kesehatan, berasosiasi terhadap kelahiran bayi dengan berat lahir rendah. Pentingnya komitmen terkait pendidikan, penekanan pada pemenuhan jumlah kunjungan prenatal, serta strategi intervensi Gerakan Scalling Up Nutrition (SUN) perlu ditingkatkan guna menekan jumlah kelahiran bayi dengan berat lahir rendah.
