DAMPAK GUNCANGAN KESEHATAN TERHADAP KONSUMSI RUMAH TANGGA DI INDONESIA: ADAKAH PERAN ASURANSI KESEHATAN DAN KREDIT MIKRO?

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh guncangan kesehatan terhadap konsumsi rumah tangga dan bagaimana peran kepemilikan asuransi dan akses kredit mikro dalam menanggulangi dampak gucangan. Variabel utama yansg digunakan sebagai proksi guncangan kesehatan adalah gangguan aktifitas fisik sehari-hari (ADL) yang dialami oleh kepala rumah tangga. Metode evaluasi dampak Propensity Score Matching (PSM) digunakan untuk mengestimasi dampak guncangan kesehatan terhadap konsumsi rumah tangga di Indonesia dengan data Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS-5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guncangan kesehatan secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap penurunan konsumsi rumah tangga baik pada konsumsi makanan dan bukan makanan. Temuan penting lainnya adalah rumah tangga yang memiliki asuransi kesehatan dan akses pada pinjaman mikro mampu mengurangi dampak negatif dari guncangan kesehatan. Asuransi kesehatan dan akses kredit mikro dapat disimpulkan memiliki peran sebagai coping risk mechanism rumah tangga saat menghadapi krisis guncangan kesehatan.
